The Spider and the Beehive

イメージ
Today I read The Spider and the Beehive, a book in Folk&Fairy Tale Easy Readers series. It was written by Kama Einhorn. One day the spider was hungry, so he asked the boy, ''Will you take me to the best plums?'' The boy agreed. I was surprised to know that a spider ate a variety of food. And the most surprising was eating bananas. Someday, I predict that spider may eat human. It was so terrible. Vocabulary tricky:油断のならない Einhorn, Kama.(2006). The Spider and the Beehive. Last weekend's memory

Last Saturday I went to a music festival called 'Number Shot'. It was held at Uminonakamiti Kaihinn Park. It was very hot day and the sun was strong. I bought my favorite artist's towel and T-shirt. T lined up to buy them. There are 21 artists at the festival and sang a lot of songs. Their songs moved me to tears. It was my favorite day.

The Rainbow Machine

Today I read The Rainbow Machine, a book in Oxford Reading Machine. It was written by Roderick Hunt. Off they went in the lorry. While it was going along, the rainbow makers got the machine ready. Then, one...tew...three...Go! They pressed a button and the rainbow shot out of the machine. In this story, the rainbow is handmade. I wondered the rainbow got straight sides. I want to realize it for children. For example, when an anniversary event, the handmade rainbow makes people happy. Hunt, Roderick.(1990). The Rainbow Machine. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press.

Victorian Adventure

Today I read Victorian Adventure, a book in Oxford Reading Tree series. It was written by Roderick Hunt. Gran was having tea with Queen Victoria. ''Gran!'' said Chip. ''What are you going in our adventure?'' ''I'm having an adventure of my own,'' said Gran.(p.28) I'm long for the life of the nobility. They live in a large house and a lot of home helpers are employed. But I think there are some troubles about fortune. Hunt, Roderick.(1990). Victorian Adventure. Oxford, UK:  Oxford University Press.

Red Planet

Today I read Red Planet, a book in Oxford Reading Tree series. It was written by Roderick Hunt. They went to the window and looked out. They saw a bid red planet. ''We are going to land on that planet,'' said Nadim. ''We will soon be there.'' (p.13) In this story, there is a red planet in the universe. I think there is a real red planet somewhere. I hope that some smart scientists  find it and make an effort to go there with low cost. Hunt, Roderick.(1987). Red Planet. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press.

Val's Diary

Today I read Val's Diary, a book in Teen ELI Readers. It was written by Mary Flagan. We arrived at Greenhill today. It's a tiny nillage. There isn't even a cinema or a fast food restaurant! There are only about ten houses, a church and a kind of corner shop which sells everything under the sun: food, newspapers, clothes and even shoes. There's a kond of bar at the back where you can eat and drink. There are only about three tables.(p.14) I don't want to live in the city very much which is crowded with a lot of people. But I may be able to meet a new friend so I try to visit a new place. Flagan, Mary.(2009). Val's Diary.

How's it going?

Hi, everyone, how are things? I came back to Omuta for three days. I received a warm welcome. And my friend came to my house and gave me a present. It was so cute. My mother's cook was so delicious. I want to go back to my house again as soon as possible!!!

man on the moon

Today I read man on the moon, a book in Oxford Reading Tree series. It was written by Christine Butterworth. In 1969 the United States of America sent three men to the Moon. Their spacecraft was called Apollo 11, and their leader was a man called Neil Armstrong. Neil's dream had always been to go to the Moon. This is the story of how he got there. I think the event that Apollo 11 landed on the moon was revolutionary for human beings. Before landing on it, most of people didn't think they could go to the moon. But going to the moon, it costs a lot of money. I want to lower the cost and make everyone go there in 2020. Vocabulary supersonic: 超高速の orbit: 軌道 Butterworth, Christine.(2003). man on the moon. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press.

Survival Adventure

Today I read Survival Adventure, a book in Oxford Reading Tree series. I was written by Roderick Hunt. The children could see that Amy was caught in the trap. They ran to help Little Fox. Together they pulled open the jaws of the trap. ''Ugh!'' said Chip, ''What a horrid thing.'' ''The trappers use them to catch animals,'' said Little Fox. ''Traps like this are cruel.'' (p.15) When Amy was caught in the trap, All of their friends helped her. So I think to cooperate with someone is important. And it's important to try to talk with people whom I don't know about his or her. Vocabulary stuck:stickの過去・過去分詞形 動かない Hunt, Roderick.(2003). Survival Adventure. Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press .

Titanic Survivor

Today I read Titanic Survivor, a book in Oxfotd Reading Tree series. It was written by Harold Bride. People have called me a hero. I don't know about that, because there were many heroes in the early hours of 15th April 1912. I was only 21 that year. I had worked for nearly a year as a ship's radio operator. In April I started a new job- on the Titanic.(p.4) I have watched the movie before. Most of people who rode on the ship died so I think the accident was very sad. But the experience should tell recent people. And we mustn't have such an accident.  Bride, Harold. (2003). Titanic Survivor.Oxford, UK: Oxford University Press.

Ireland

Today I read Ireland, a book in Oxford Bookworms Factfiles series. It was written by Tim Vicary. The island of Ireland is low in the middle, and high on the outside. Because of this, the middle of Ireland is full of beautiful lakes and rivers, where people fish and sail. Ireland's  largest lake is Lough Neagh. Its longest river, the Shannon, is 385 kilometers long.(p.2) I haven't known about Ireland before I have read. From the book, I learned that Ireland had a serious story. I haven't visited there yet, so if I have a chance to visit there, I want to go to the traditional facilities. Vicary, Tim(1998). Ireland. Oxford University Press.

Kipper and the Giant

Today I read Kipper and the Giant, a book in Oxford Reading Tree series. It was written by Roderick Hunt. Kipper helped the villagers to mend their houses. Paris Adventure

Today I read Paris Adventure, a book in Oxford Reading Tree. It was written by Roderick Hunt. Later Nadim and Anneena came to play with Biff and Chip. Anneena had a model of the Eiffel Tower.(p.4) I was surprised at the invention of Eiffel Tower. If the story is true, these children were so smart. I want to invent such a traditional thing. vocabulary torch:たいまつ Hunt, Roderick(2007). Paris Adventure. Oxford Reading Press
