BR-16 The Stolen White Elephant

I heard the following curious story from a railway acquaintance. He was a gentleman of more than seventy years of age, and his good face and sincere manner put the stamp of truth on eveything he said. (p.11)

I think that suddenly an elephant disappears, people living in the place may feel scared because sometimes elephants are violent. In this story, someone stole the elephant. I want to know how to do it. In addition, I want to know how much is it if I buy an elephant.
